Makeup/Redoing Your Project Grade
In order to make up your grade please figure out why your group got a low grade and follow the instructions below..
1) REASON: My group isn't even on the table! - This means someone did not follow the instructions for submitting the group document folder with me. This was covered in class twice. Please refer back to the "Daily Agenda" under the Students section, find the instructions for submitting your folder, and then follow the instructions carefully. Lastly, you will need to email me once you have completed the instructions. Please include your folder name, period, and group name so that I can easily track and locate your document folder. Failure to follow these instructions = no change in grade.
2) REASON: My group submitted the wrong document or my document is incomplete! - You can resubmit your project for grading once you have fixed it. Each group is eligible to resubmit their project ONE time. Please contact your group members to make arrangements to complete the incomplete sections. Once you have finished making the corrections you will need to e-mail me in order to notify me to recheck your document. Please include the following information: period, group name, group member names, and specific sections that were redone. I will reply to you once I have finished re-correcting the documents. 3) REASON: I think I deserve a better grade, my group fooled around too much! - Whenever I notice groups are struggling, I'll usually try to offer my support. I'll ask if people need to be moved, or if there's anything I can do to get student X to do better. If you feel like you put in every effort to succeed but were held back by your group please e-mail me your thoughts and justification as to why you specifically deserve a better grade than what you were given for this project. I'll be open-minded about your argument as long as you're open-minded to hear my response.
MAKE UP ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE BY OCTOBER 13th 5:00 PM.
NO MAKE UP WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT POINT.

About Mr. ToyotaWhen they say "professions run in the family," the saying holds true for my family and I. My mother, my aunty, and my grandmother were all teachers before me and I didn't ever think I'd be the one to take up the mantle. I've been teaching since 2008 and started at the age of 23 years old.
I'm a National Board Certified teacher with a Bachelor's in Secondary Education: Social Studies. Additionally, I have served in various roles ranging from an HSTA PD Trainer and Consultant, AVID Site Team Member, Club Advisory, Volleyball Coach, Event Organizer, and Chair for the CxK Media Cohort. Basic Teaching PhilosophyThere are constantly occurring learning opportunities. As a teacher, it is my duty to not only help students see these opportunities at face value, but to help them profit from these experiences.
I believe that learning is growing and that growing in the right direction is an important aspect of being successful. I can help the imperfect, I can hardly help those who are perfect. Although academics is an important part of a child's life, I understand that a child's life is even more important than school as an institution. Homework, tests, grades, and due dates pale in comparison to preparing a child for their future. I am but one person amongst a community of people that will come into a child's life, whether my role is small or large, my actions have lasting implications. I will always strive to make a difference, to help student's grow in the right direction, to develop their passions, and to prepare them for the struggles ahead. It is my duty, my honor, and my will as their teacher. - Ethan Toyota Archives
